Sustainability rests on the principle that we must meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Therefore, stewardship of our natural resources is of prime importance. Stewardship of land and natural resources involves maintaining or enhancing this vital resource base for the long term.
Continuous farming without replenishing nutrients leads of course to poor soil condition, erosion and poor crop output. When farmers grow and harvest crops, they remove some of these nutrients from the soil. Without replenishment, the land would suffer from nutrient depletion and be unusable for future farming. Sustainable agriculture depends on replenishing the soil while minimizing the use of non-renewable resources, such as natural gas (used in converting atmospheric nitrogen into synthetic fertilizer), or mineral ores (e.g., phosphate).
With the decline of family farms, increasing costs of production, and the disintegration of economic and social conditions in rural communities, we are seeing vast sections of land lying undeveloped for crop production and/or once proud homesteads being split up for housing developments and industrial sites.
Our goal as stewards of the land is to acquire land in Torch River No. 488 initially between Nipawin and Snowden one section at a time, develop the land for renewable crops and go from there.

What size acreage are you interested in?
There are no size limitations to what we will purchase. Fill in the form and we will discuss your personal situation
What will you do with the land you are acquiring?
Our 2008 harvest included wheat, oats, barley, canola, peas and canary. We will be expanding this land base of approximately 10,000 acres and continue to grow crops.
If you buy up all my neighbors land how
will I be affected?
There is no pressure on you to sell to us. It would be nice if our holdings are consolidated but we expect to take our time acquiring land. Your land value will probably not diminish or increase in value because we are buying
Tell me about the Stay on My Land option?
When you sell us your substantial holdings (a section or more) you may retain title to your home and outbuidlings to live on. We are only interested in farmland.
What crops will you be growing?
Using best practices in our determination of the types of crops we will be growing hardy crops on a rotating basis.
Do you practice environmentally friendly practices?
Wherever possible we will use sustainable energy and do our best to work with protecting the environment
Is Torch River Agricultural Corp a big international conglomerate?
We are owned and managed by a couple of local born and bred guys who decided one day to buy back a lost homestead and thought it might be a good idea to keep it going. We are a privately held company at present
Can I invest in Saskatchewan’s future and your company?
If you wish to be informed of any investment opportunities should we go public please contact the President or VP of Development
